First Orthodontic Visit – All Kids

Placing the Orthodontic Appliance

Once our orthodontist determines the best course of action for you or your child, they will place an orthodontic appliance (such as braces, clear ceramic braces, lingual braces, expanders, etc.).

• The procedure usually takes between an hour and an hour and a half and marks the beginning of treatment.
• Adjustment visits typically last about 20 minutes.

Follow-Up Appointments

Adjustments are usually scheduled every four to eight weeks. These visits allow us to:

• Monitor the progress of your treatment.
• Ensure your appliance remains in good condition.

Office Policies

To ensure a successful treatment, we ask all patients to:

Keep all scheduled appointments and notify the office at least 48 hours in advance if you need to reschedule.

Maintain good oral hygiene and visit your general dentist regularly. (If you don’t have a dentist, we can help you find one that meets your family’s needs.)

Take care of your orthodontic appliances by:

• Avoiding foods and drinks that can damage or distort them.
• Reporting any loss or damage as soon as possible.
